Rockland Teachers’ Center is a NYS Teacher Center!  NYS Teacher Centers  provide educators with customized professional learning to prepare students for a changing tomorrow.

NYS Teacher Centers funding supports:

Culturally Responsive Education and Culturally Diverse Learners
 Developing programs that address school culture, including racial and social justice issues
Safe and Secure Learning Environments
 Creating and maintaining safe, secure and inclusive learning environments for all students
Aligning Technology with Instruction
 Advancing state-of-the-art strategies and applications secured by the Smart Schools Bond Act
Teacher Retention and Teacher Leadership Development
 Providing mentor programs for new educators and facilitating National Board Certification for veteran teachers

Next Generation Learning Standards
 Connecting academic and applied knowledge in all subject areas, including Career and Technical Education.

Nominations for the Better Beginnings Award are due by February 8, 2019.  Nominees must be  PreK-6 grade level teachers with NYS credentials.
