Each 90-minute computer-based CLEP exam will allow you to get instant score results. You can receive credit for what you already know by earning qualifying scores on any one or more of the 34 CLEP examinations. More than 2,900 colleges and universities in the United States will recognize your comprehensive subject knowledge acquired through independent or prior study, cultural pursuits, special interests, internships, or professional development. Each college or university sets its own CLEP policy regarding how much credit will be granted and for what courses.
Where do I start?
Contact your college’s admissions office or a career/academic adviser and ask the following questions:
- Does your college recognize CLEP examinations in the subjects you want?
- What score do you need to get credit for the equivalent course?
- Does earning that credit allow you to skip one or more introductory courses?
- Are there additional requirements before credit is granted?
The following tests are offered:
• Composition and Literature—American Literature; Analyzing and Interpreting Literature; College Composition English Composition with essay); College Composition Modular (replaced English Comp without essay and Freshman College Comp); English Literature; Humanities, • Science and Mathematics—Biology; Calculus; Chemistry; College Algebra; College Mathematics; Precalculus (check with the college prior to taking this test); Natural Sciences • Foreign Language—French; German; Spanish • Social Sciences and History—American Government; History of the United States I: Early Colonization to 1877; History of the United States II: 1865 to the Present; Human Growth and Development; Introduction to Educational Psychology; Principles of Macroeconomics; Principles of Microeconomics; Introductory Psychology; Social Sciences and History; Introductory Sociology; Western Civilization I: Ancient Near East to 1648; Western Civilization II: 1648 to the Present • Business—Introductory Business Law; Information Systems and Computer Applications; Principles of Accounting; Principles of Management; Principles of Marketing; Financial Accounting
NOTE: You can take any Test Title on any day there is testing, one test per time.
Fees: RTCI Registration - $35 (charged upon registration) CLEP - $77 (charged on day of testing)
Please bring two photo ids and credit card on day of testing.
