FLES (After-school Foreign Language)
Our goal is to provide each student with an opportunity to learn a foreign language and its culture at the elementary school level. The purpose of our program is to expose the elementary school student to the basics of a foreign language by focusing on specific vocabulary, cultural topics, and basic communication skills. Our six-week program will be presented in a meaningful context through interactive, fun, and interesting activities. The curriculum is communications-based and will engage the student in active lessons through song, games, rhymes, crafts, group activities, and authentic materials from foreign countries. If transportation is required, it will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian. NYS Learning Standard: LOTE.
